Harvest-Your-Own Blueberries

The blueberry harvest usually starts in mid-July and continues until late August.  Hours are variable depending on weather and picking conditions.
Please call Farmer Jones at (203) 929-8425
for the latest Crop Report before heading off to the fields.

During Blueberry Season, check our Picking Conditions for details.

Blueberries are easy and fun to pick on those lazy days of summer. Our highbush blueberry bushes are simple to harvest and a relaxing social activity, as one can stand and "thumb" the berries off the bush while visiting with friends or family. Blueberries are great for baking, pancakes, jam, and easy to freeze for use all winter long. Try some of our delicious blueberry recipes!

Before you head out to the farm, we like to remind our visitors that harvesting blueberries can be a physically demanding activity. Please come suitably attired, with appropriate footgear. The Very Merry Berry Ferry will deliver you to the field, but be prepared to walk to where the best picking is in the field. Bring a hat and sunscreen for the sunny days. Many visitors also bring a bottle of drinking water to sip on while they pick. The farm does provide water, but a personal container is recommended.

Children are welcome in the blueberry field under parental supervision, provided they act responsibly and follow the picking guidelines.

Our blueberries are sold by the pound. The farm provides free picking containers, boxes, and our scales are set back to the weight of the box. A 30-cent credit is given to those who recycle their Jones Family Farms berry box.
