Bishop's Orchards Takes on the Jones Family Farms for Charity

Support your local farm-online! Two Connecticut farms are curious as to who can grow the largest crop of Facebook fans by this Thanksgiving. Keith Bishop of Bishop's Orchards (www.facebook.com/bishopsorchardsfarmmarket) in Guilford and Jamie Jones of Jones Family Farms and Winery (www.facebook.com/jonesfamilyfarms) in Shelton have accepted this challenge: For every fan that joins their respective Facebook pages by 8 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 27 (the day after Thanksgiving), the two farms will donate $1 each (up to a maximum of 5,000 fans total between the two farms) to charities of their choosing.
Additionally, the second-place owner will travel to the winning farm and put in an honest day's work during the Christmas season. At the contest start on Oct. 22, Jones Family Farms had 1,119 fans and Bishop's Orchards had 1,437 fans.
