Current Picking Conditions - Blueberries

The months of July and August bring many beautiful things to New England, including fresh blueberries!

Farm hours and harvest areas depend on weather and crop readiness. We have blueberry fields at our Pumpkinseed Hill and Valley Farm locations. Be sure to call the Farmer Jones Crop Line (203-929-8425) before leaving to come harvest. The Crop Line is updated daily during the berry seasons with hours and specific picking locations.

For blueberry season the farm is typically open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00am till 5:30pm and is closed Sundays and Mondays. A typical blueberry season runs from mid-July into late August – however, this is New England and days and times change as quickly as the weather does.

Once you find out when and where we are picking, visit our directions page and as you get closer, look for the Jones Blueberry signs pointing you to the correct location.

Please remember to leave your pet at home during blueberry season. We practice Good Agricultural Practices, and since berries are food crops, even the best trained pets are not allowed in the fields. Thank you for your cooperation.

Visit our Harvesting Tips section for more information on how to prepare for your visit.

The Very Merry Berry Ferry will deliver you to the field, but be prepared to walk to where the best picking is in the field. Bring a hat and sunscreen for the sunny days. Many visitors also bring a bottle of drinking water to sip on while they pick. The farm does provide water, but a personal container is recommended.

Always call the Farmer Jones Crop Hotline at 203-929-8425 before leaving the house to hear hours of operation and field we're picking at on any given day.
