Portsmouth, NH will inspire our March 21st menu and discussion:

One of New England’s oldest seaports, this small charming city has witnessed many layers of settlers from around the world. Home to Strawberry Banke, a preserved Portsmouth neighborhood, the historic food stories of its previous residents are authentically retold. Portsmouth’s vibrant food and restaurant scene is currently sought out by many travelers.

Six New England Places of Food Distinction

Our 2020 Spring Series will emphasize the simple, honest cooking of New England with recipes inspired by the wealth of superb indigenous ingredients so abundant in our unique agricultural area. As well as learning about the special character of each New England locality, tips for creating a thrifty, sustainable, and seasonal kitchen that enables you to easily make delicious and wholesome meals will be provided.

Our limited number of cooking classes is snuggled in between our busy farm harvest seasons. Each class is unique and especially developed for its scheduled day so we can highlight the regional, farm food ingredients of the season. Our classes are taught using a combination of cooking demonstration and hands-on preparation by the class participants. Jean Jones, Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, will also discuss the cultural and nutritional aspects of the foods we are studying. We conclude each class by dining at our ample farm table, enjoying a specially selected glass of Jones wine. Students leave with copies of our simple, flavorful recipes and other relevant information.

This class is full, registration is closed.
