Thank you very much for your involvement as a member of the Farm Credit East cooperative by taking the time to review my candidacy for re-election to the Farm Credit East Board of Directors. It has been my honor to serve you as a Board Director for seven years.
Farmer, Business Leader, Farm Advocate
I am so fortunate to be the sixth generation to farm the land on our 500-acre farm. From my earliest memories, I have always wanted to be a farmer and to this day, my hands are often in the soil. Overseeing all aspects of my family's farm as well as founding my farm's winery operation, I know first hand the farm's success relies on sound business decisions and our family's continued collaboration over the years with the Farm Credit system.
As we direct market our farm products to thousands of guests who visit our farm each year, my family and I take very seriously our responsibility to be the face of farming to many people who might only visit a farm once a year. One of our farm's main goals is to positively promote agriculture, and the efforts of farmers and agricultural operators such as you. From my direct interactions with so many people each year at our farm, I bring an important perspective to the Board of consumer impressions and interests in our region's agriculture.
Listen, Learn, and Serve
Being on the Farm Credit East Board, I actively listen and learn from the many farmers I meet, from farm visits to the customer service council meetings. I have availed myself and completed all the Farm Credit Premier Governance trainings. As the Chair of the Governance and Stewardship Committee, I work hard to make sure the functions of the Board are efficient, sound, and reflective of the cooperative's interests. I bring your perspectives to Washington, DC, by meeting with members of Congress and their staff. With my farm and Farm Credit East experiences, I am fully committed to further strengthen and develop our cooperative.
Thank you for your time and consideration of my candidacy. Best wishes to you, your family, and your agricultural operation in 2022.
I invite you to visit the farm via the video below. In this video created for our farm's guests, I discuss our farm's sustainable farming methods we use when planting pumpkins. I'm sporting quite the COVID beard! Thanks again, Jamie
