Spring finally seems to be here. The clearest sign to all of us here on the farm is that the tree planting season has begun! The ground has thawed and we are moving thousands of baby tree seedlings from our tree nurseries into our tree fields. It is a race against time and Mother Nature - we need to get all the trees planted before the weather warms up too much and wakes the trees from their dormant state.
We have pruned the grapevines and the blueberry bushes. So far, they look good and for that we are grateful. Connecticut experienced its coldest winter in 20 years. The only thing we are guaranteed on the farm is that each year is different, so we look forward to see how this year will unfold.
With the Winery Tasting Room and Harvest Kitchen Cooking Studio open for the season, we enjoy see our guests returning the farm for another season, another year.
We greatly appreciate your support of local farms and farmers. Thank you for visiting Jones Family Farms - where memories are always in season!
