We're thrilled to bring our guests the trio version of one of the premiere bluegrass bands in New England, Hitch & The Giddyup, to our July Summerfest at the Hill on July 18th!
Moving nimbly between original Bluegrass, soulful Americana, and honky-tonk Country, Hitch & the Giddyup has developed a reputation as a distinct live act in their home state of Connecticut. Their rich song craft, instrumental prowess, and freewheeling stage presence has won converts in clubs, pubs, theaters and dives throughout New England.
Hitch & the Giddyup was formed in 2014 as a pick-up band hosting a monthly bluegrass night at a tavern in Black Rock, CT. It didn’t take long for the group to coalesce, as the five members discovered an uncommon chemistry, camaraderie, and shared passion for creating original music.
This trio version of the band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Dan Carlucci, Pete Kaufman on banjo and vocals, and bassist Bob Csugie. Dan has been a fixture as a solo acoustic guest at our winery's summer music series for many years.
Hitch & the Giddyup continues to perform relentlessly and joyfully, always adding new songs and exploring fresh takes on old favorites. As of early 2026, the band has a new record in the can - a road-tested batch of dynamic, compelling songs to be released soon - Giddyup!

Please remember -
- Bring ID if 21 years or older to order wine or beer (3 per person limit).
- Bring a blanket or lawn chairs to sit on the lawn to the listen to the music
- NO: outside food or beverages; water bottles; open wine bottles; pop up tents; ball playing
- Water fountain and water igloos will be available.
Watching the Weather -
- If due to extreme weather, we have to cancel the events at Pumpkinseed Hill, we will refund your ticket cost and the band will play at the winery tasting room instead.
