Call the Crop Report for the Farm and Winery Updates

FAQs

How do I know if you’re open or what field you are picking at on a specific date?

You can call our farm crop report at 203-929-8425. During the harvest season, the message is updated frequently with all the necessary information you need. Go to directions for the field locations.

Can we bring our own food to the Winery?

No, as we are a working farm with a licensed kitchen, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. Therefore, we kindly request that no outside food be brought onto the premises. This policy helps us ensure the safety and quality of the food we provide.

Is there a real Farmer Jones?

Yes! We currently have three generations of Jones farmers living here on the farm. The Farmer Jones on the phone message is Terry Jones, the 5th generation of the family to work on this farm. Terry and wife Jean manage the farm operations with their son Jamie and his wife Christiana.  Many other family members, including the 7th generation, help throughout the farm.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes. We accept credit and debit cards at all areas of the farm and for all seasons.

Where can I get updates on Jones Family Farms news?

You can follow us on our Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. We especially encourage you to sign up for our farm and winery newsletters that provide very valuable, up-to-date info. (Sign-up forms are here on our website.)

Can I bring my dog or pets to the farm?

Pet dogs are only allowed with guests in the Christmas tree fields during our tree harvest season in late November and December. During our other seasons, please leave your pets home, as Good Agricultural Practices discourage even the best trained animals in the fields with food. (Service dogs are not included in this policy.) See this helpful YouTube video segment regarding bringing your dog to the farm at Christmas.

Is there a place to picnic or tailgate on the farm?

Good Agricultural Practices discourage the consumption of foods in our customer harvest/parking areas. We encourage visitors to visit one of the nearby parks that are set up to accommodate picnickers.  Please see our guidelines regarding parking lot refreshments.

Can we hike or walk on farm property?

We enjoy that everyone loves the beauty of our land, however, we are a busy, working farm with a variety of farm projects and equipment on any given day. Therefore, we do not permit visitors to walk the farm outside of the areas open when harvesting crops.

Does the farm host birthday parties?

Due to staffing, space and safety issues, we do not have set-ups for birthday parties. We do hope birthdays are celebrated with fresh fruit and vegetables as the centerpiece, however, we request an adult family member come beforehand to pick for an at-home party or a picnic at a park.

Do you allow weddings or other private special events at the winery or the farm?

We do not host private special events.  If you are looking for a winery setting for your wedding or special event please visit The CT Wine and Vineyard Association website.

Can I do a photo shoot/engagement shots/wedding photos at your farm/winery?

While we love families snapping personal photos of their adventures during our harvest seasons, we do not allow professional photographers arranging 'photo sessions' on our property. Due to large crowds and nature of agricultural work we do here at the farm, having people arrive for photo shoots is complicated for us to arrange. CTWine.com lists many CT wineries that specialize in these types of events.

Can I use my drone at your farm?

Drones are not permitted to be used anywhere on the farm. Thanks for understanding.

Where can I buy a Jones T-Shirt?

Visit our Winery gift shop for several wonderful options of Jones-ware.

Do you sell food on the farm?

During pumpkin season and Christmas tree season we offer cider as well our wonderful cookies made from scratch here at the farm, and some other light fare. Jones staff can provide a list of local restaurants for you after you check out.

Do you offer school tours at the farm?

Yes. To learn about our different fall school program dates, and pricing, you can visit our Fall School Tours page. Please note, space is limited.

Is the farm handicap-accessible?

In the harvest farmyard parking lots there are handicap-accessible parking spaces. Adjacent to the parking areas are gravel farm roads that most wheelchairs are able to handle if the weather conditions are good.
