Jones Family Farms is a 400-acre farm nestled in the White Hills of Shelton, Connecticut. The Jones family sells their crops “harvest-your-own” style. The farm grows all of its pumpkins, as well as dozens of unique winter squashes.
During our Fall School Programs, children enjoy a hay wagon tour of the farm fields to see the growing crops and landmarks of a classic New England farm.
At the field classroom our farm educator teaches about growing crops, providing a unique experience for each grade level.
Students will then harvest their own pumpkin.
After harvesting their pumpkin, students label and carry their bags back to the hay wagon.
Chaperones play an important role helping students as they become farmers for a day.
Upon returning to the Harvest Yard, classes may take a self-guided tour to explore the over 50 varieties of pumpkins, squash, and gourds grown at the farm.
