The Winemakers

Phillip Jameson Jones

Philip Jamison (Jamie) Jones, a sixth generation farmer at Jones Family Farms, planted the original vineyard in 1999 at Pumpkinseed Hill, and in 2004, he sold his first bottles of Jones wines. Jamie has handed over the winemaking reins to our winemakers. He is proud of our winemakers and how they share the farm's commitment to sustainable farming and the philosophy that great wines come from great vineyards.

Larry McCulloch joined the Jones Winery in 2008. A graduate of The Ohio State University horticulture program, his background includes working at Benmarl Vineyards in New York and Chamard Vineyards in Connecticut. Larry brings over 30 years of experience, both in the vineyard and in winemaking.

Joseph Patrick joined the Jones winemaking team fulltime in 2020, after receiving a degree in Viticulture and Enology. Joe got his start at the Jones farm in high school, and was inspired to pursue his studies in vineyards and winemaking. While a fulltime student in the Finger Lakes Community Colleges’ Viticulture and Enology program, he worked at the esteemed Red Newt Cellars as well as Glacier Ridge Vineyards, located on Seneca Lake. Since returning to Jones, Joe’s divergent experience and knowledge bring state of the art perspectives to the Jones wines.

Be good to the land and the land will be good to you.
