No Place Like Home Shelburne, VT
Shelburne, VT will inspire our March 14th menu and discussion:
Site of the magnificent castle-like Shelburne Farms on the shores of Lake Champlain, the farm was originally a 19th century gentleman’s model farm estate. Currently, the revitalized farm’s strong mission is to preserve its historic buildings and farmlands and to provide inspiration and education on earth sustainability.

Six New England Places of Food Distinction
Our 2020 Spring Series will emphasize the simple, honest cooking of New England with recipes inspired by the wealth of superb indigenous ingredients so abundant in our unique agricultural area. As well as learning about the special character of each New England locality, tips for creating a thrifty, sustainable, and seasonal kitchen that enables you to easily make delicious and wholesome meals will be provided.
Our limited number of cooking classes is snuggled in between our busy farm harvest seasons. Each class is unique and especially developed for its scheduled day so we can highlight the regional, farm food ingredients of the season. Our classes are taught using a combination of cooking demonstration and hands-on preparation by the class participants. Jean Jones, Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist, will also discuss the cultural and nutritional aspects of the foods we are studying. We conclude each class by dining at our ample farm table, enjoying a specially selected glass of Jones wine. Students leave with copies of our simple, flavorful recipes and other relevant information.
This class is full, registration is closed.
